Learn how to be a Brilliant Blogger
Writing a blog isn’t easy, it takes good research skills and writing ability. You should be able to offer valuable information that is interesting and relative to most readers. Unless you are targeting a specific sector or audience, you should try and create a voice that is good for all types of readers. It’s true that everybody can be a blogger, but it’s rare to find brilliant content creators.
Firstly, we should start by explaining what a blog really is. A lot of the time we find that our clients or social media followers are confused about what purpose a blog page serves. This is quite normal, since there’s an array of ways to make use of your blog.
A blog is literally a platform which you can utilise as part of your website. You can effectively post material on a regular basis and build a solid community of followers. It is very popular among business owners, advertisers and marketers across the globe to indirectly sell products and services through the use of a blog.
Call To Action
By integrating Call to Action’s in your blog articles; This will allow your Site visitors to leave their contact information. When this happens, your content becomes a value which generates leads -meaning it brings in potential customers, which helps in the converting process and overall buying cycle!
CTA’s play an important part in Conversion because it invites the reader to act on your product offering, this could be a call that prompts the reader to purchase your product online or make contact. Also, your call to action may offer a free download of interesting and useful content in exchange for leaving their contact information.
Let’s give you a good example of how CTA’s and Blog article work. Recently, Cloudnames posted an article about why Logo’s are important for your online marketing. We placed CTAs in the article -enabling the reader to get in contact with a member of our team. Anyone who required logo design or some expert advice could leave their information. And, low and behold the next day we were receiving phone calls about pricing.
Your CTA should ideally present a desired action to your readers, this means providing a source of value that will serve some purpose. If the CTA triggers an action then you should get the highest possible conversion rate. You can increase your revenue and reach your ideal business goals.
Here is an example, below is one of our own CTA’s. If you care to leave your contact details, you will receive our free Social Media Marketing guide today! Plus, it will give you a good idea on how CTA’s actually work.

Don’t forget to start building your email list. Even if you don’t plan on selling anything, having an email list will allow you to promote your new content to your audience directly without worrying about search rankings or Facebook and other online blocks in communications.
The most successful kind of content marketing you could provide your readers (or potential customers) are -Valuable information that can solve a problem . You can also share content that is based on your thoughts, recommendations, reviews, facts or figures, upcoming events and so forth. It all depends on what you want to achieve.
Often a blog is identified as an online journal; you can use your blog to write about your passion and share it with others who have the same interest and are likely to be your potential customers.
Your demographic is not limited, since people (of all ages) generally love food and it’s many people are continuously -in and out- of yo yo diets not knowing much about nutritional value in certain foods or how to cook it. This is value you can offer for free, and it can bring in potential customers. Essentially, what you are doing is -solving a problem.
Remember, the internet is a medium that reaches copious amounts of people, this is your opportunity to build good relationships with your page visitors and accumulate more interest and traffic at the same time.
Research is Key for any blogger
A blog is typically run by an individual or small group of writers in an organisation or business. And yes, blogs are often written in an informal or conversational way, but not always. It depends on what you have on offer, or again- what you want to achieve.
Nevertheless, it’s about writing around a topic or area of interest that is beneficial to your cause or business. It is ideal to create blog posts that answers the most interesting questions from people you engage with on social media or pointers you get from talking with your customers.
You must try and understand your audience better than they understand themselves. It takes a lot of research, and often means putting yourself in the shoes of those you are trying to reach out to.
If you were a customer to your business, what would you want to know about your products and services? What would be your biggest question? Now think, how can I best answer it? Think about what angle you should take.
Adii Pienaar, founder of PublicBeta rightly states that as a blogger you should always “Write for yourself first and ignore the fact that anyone else will read what you write; just focus on your thoughts, ideas, opinions and figure out how to put those into words. Write it and they will come.”
Also, successful bloggers should keep up to date with the essential aspects and features of social media. There are new features and attributes which you must stay inundated with. But, writing compelling and engaging content on a regular basis over time should be your main focus.
How to Write a Blog
There are many ways of writing a blog, some people plan and others go with the flow. Although both are essential, it’s more about the angle you choose to take. What is important as we mentioned previously is the research! This is could make or break your article.
People tend to go with facts, and if what you have to offer is based solely in your opinion- it may not be viable or good enough. It’s about results, and if you can solve a problem for a reader in need, then you have won that person over- at least as a follower. Then it’s up to you to convert them.
You have to consider blogging over a long period of time before you see a return. The web is a big, noisy place and unless you’re willing to invest more over a greater period of time than others, you’ll find success nearly impossible.
You must think about what content you already have and how much of it can be recycled and reused or revised. Once, you’ve established this, it’s time think about the ways you can curate more content.
Content production is a process which you must plan to establish a fluid workflow that can be managed and maintained over time. Also, developing and creating visual or written assets such as videos, eBooks, blog posts, whitepapers and infographics will take time and much effort.
If you’re seeking short-term ROI, or a quick path to recognition, blogging is the wrong path. But if you can stick it out for some months without results and constantly learn, iterate, and improve, you can achieve something remarkable.
When writing your article you should follow a structure that is constant throughout your website or social media posts. You should apply the same body of text, headings, descriptions, captions, call to actions and links in all your article. Alongside this, having the right image to illustrate your writing is vital.
Reviewing your end product is important too, you should look over your content to see if there is anything that needs modifying, changing, rectifying or adding. You are providing your audience with value, so making sure everything is in order is good for your overall reliability for being a good source of information.
